About 8 Ball Pool online
8-ball is the most played pool game on the planet. Our 3D table features polished wooden rails, a cloth surface, numbered balls that roll realistically and an overhead lamp that throws soft shadows. Every shot is computed on the server with a high-precision physics engine and replayed identically on both screens, so there are no disagreements and no lag-induced misses. Play friends with an invite link, match with others, or practise against the computer.
How to play 8 Ball Pool on Xons Play
- Move your mouse or finger to aim — the cue follows your pointer.
- Press and drag back to set power, then release to shoot. A short tap cancels.
- With ball in hand, first click anywhere on the table to place the cue ball.
- Pot all balls of your group (solids 1–7 or stripes 9–15), then pot the 8-ball to win.
8 Ball Pool rules
- The break
- The first shot is a break from behind the head string. Potting balls on the break keeps your turn; the table stays open.
- Groups
- The first player to legally pot a ball after the break takes that group — solids or stripes.
- Fouls
- Potting the cue ball, hitting no ball, hitting the wrong group first, or no ball reaching a cushion is a foul. Your opponent gets ball in hand.
- The 8-ball
- Once your group is cleared, pot the 8-ball to win. Potting the 8 early or on a foul loses the game. Potting it on the break wins instantly.
Tips & strategy
- Aim at the "ghost ball" — the spot where the cue ball must be at impact, one ball-width behind the object ball.
- Use medium power for accuracy; very hard shots scatter balls and risk scratches.
- Think one shot ahead: leave the cue ball where your next ball is easy.
